Conflict in Vietnam
A month after Ho Chi Minh declares that the Democratic Republic of Vietnam is his country’s only legal government, the United States and Great Britain recognize the state of Vietnam under Emperor Bao Dai. That month, the Chinese Communists begin supplying the Viet Minh with modern weaponry.
