Bay of Pigs

Some 1,500 Cuban exiles, financed and trained by the CIA, invade their homeland at the Bay of Pigs in an attempt to overthrow Fidel Castro. Within 48 hours, they are defeated in what is quickly dubbed a "fiasco" – and the first foreign policy crisis for the new administration.
