…This country is so beautiful when the sun is shining - - mountains, farmers in their rice paddies with their water buffalo, palm trees, monkeys, birds….For a fleet moment I wasn’t in a war zone at all, just on vacation but still missing you and the family….

PFC George A. Williams served with Company B, 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry (Rangers), 1st Infantry Division, operating in III Corps, from February 1967-February 1968. A retired firefighter from Brooklyn, New York, he now lives in Northampton, Massachusetts.
